Poha

This is a common breakfast thingee at home. My mom used to make it almost every weekend. A very simple and I guess very healthy dish as well. It hardly takes 10 minutes to make it and a spoon of oil is more than enough. You can buy Poha (rice flakes) from any Desi Indian shop.

Ingredients:
* Poha (Rice flakes) 1 cup
* Mustard seeds 1 tsp
* Saunf 1 tsp
* Onion 1 small
* Green chillies 2-3
* Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
* Salt
* Lemon juice 1 tbsp

Procedure:
Heat oil, add mustard seeds and saunf (fennel seeds). Add finely chopped onions. Cook till transparent.
Add chopped green chillies, salt and turmeric powder.
Soak rice flakes in water for a minute. Drain water and squeeze lightly to drain away excess water.
Add soaked poha to the masala and stir well. Cook for a minute.
Serve hot garnished with lemon juice and corriander leaves.

Daagh,
Poha look nice. It is indeed a quick-to-make yet healthy dish. Btw, you use Saunf in it? That's new to me. We use Jeera/cumin seeds instead.

Thanks Vaishali

Yeah I add saunf in it. It gives it a very pleasant and distict flavour. You should try once :-)
