Badam Phirni/Firni...


Ingredients:
* Milk 250ml
* Rice powder 2 tbsp
* Blanced Almonds 12-15
* Sugar 3-4 tbsp

Procedure:
Soak almonds and rice powder in a cup of water for around an hour.
Boil milk for 10 minutes.
Blend almonds and rice powder into a paste and add it to the boiling milk.
Keep boiling on medium heat till it becomes thickish.
Serve hot or cold garnished with chopped almonds.

Hello Daagh, what's the difference between Firni and Kheer? I make my kheer the same way. BTW, pic. looks delicious :).

From what i understand, kheer is where you can see the rice grains and firni is where we use rice powder instead of grains... :-s

What a wonderful yet simple way to make a cool dish!!
I would love to try it.But what if I don't manage to make almond into paste. Is almond powder available n the market, or is there any other way to use almond in case I can't make a paste?

To make almond paste, just add half a cup of milk to the whole almonds and blend it into a paste using hand blender/food processor.

I guess you can buy finely chopped almonds in the market which you can use as well
