Chicken Xacuti...

Chicken Xacuti is a Goa'n dish. I love the aroma of the spices and coconut in it.

Ingredients:
* Chicken 500 gms
* Onions 2 medium
* Coconut milk 1 cup
* Dessicated coconut 2 tbsp
* Black peppers 10-15
* Cinamon stick 1 inch
* Aniseed 1 flower
* Whole dhaniya 1 tbsp
* Zeera 1 tsp
* Mustard seeds 1 tsp
* Kalonjee (onion seeds) 1/2 tsp
* Red chilli powder 1tsp
* Haldi powder 1/2 tsp
* Salt
* Oil

Procedure:
Roast black peppers, aniseed, dhaiya, mustard, kalonjee, cinamon and zeera on a hot tawa without oil for a minute.
Make powder of these masalas and keep aside.
Heat tawa and add a tbsp spoon of oil and add coconut. Fry for a minute and keep aside.
Fry finely chopped onions in a tbsp of oil till transparent.
Now blend all the above ingredients into a paste. Add water if needed to make it a smooth thick paste.
Heat 2 tbsp oil, fry the paste on high heat for 5 minutes and keep stirring all the time.
Add chicken pieces and cook for another 5 minutes in high heat.
Now lower the heat to medium and let it cook till oil seperates.
Add coconut milk and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Serve with hot parathas and rice.

Looks wonderful! Yummy dish.
